Following a review conducted by Becker’s Hospital Review in October 2023, the new UVA Health Orthopedic Center was added to the list of the top 100 hospitals and health systems with outstanding orthopedic programs in 2023. This recognition speaks to the orthopedic center’s dedication to providing exceptional care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions or injuries. Becker’s has described the new UVA Health Orthopedic Center as a leader in orthopedic clinical care and musculoskeletal research.
Located on Ivy Road, the UVA Health Orthopedic Center has grown to become one of the country's largest outpatient orthopedic centers. The center reported 200,000 patient visits and performed 10,000 surgeries in the past fiscal year. Its surgeons also perform over 1,000 joint replacements annually. Additionally, the center offers comprehensive outpatient care, prosthetics and orthotics services, physical therapy, and imaging. During his speech, Bobby Chhabra, MD, chair of the UVA Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, expressed his admiration for the entire team at the UVA Health Orthopedic Center for achieving this national honor and reiterated their commitment to providing optimal care for patients. He also noted that the facility's convenient location at U.S. 29 and Interstate 64 will make orthopedic care easily accessible for patients from across Virginia.
